Frequently Asked Questions

Which J-B Weld products do the Static Mixers fit?

They fit any J-B Weld 25 ml syringe, including KwikWeld, J-B Weld Original, MarineWeld, WoodWeld, PlasticBonder, ClearWeld, PlasticWeld, and MinuteWeld. They are the replacement mixers for syringe products such as ClearWeld 50112. They do not fit the twin tube packages, which have no nozzle and are dispensed onto a tray and mixed by hand.

Do Static Mixers fit the 14 ml syringes?

No. The 50099 Static Mixer fits only the 25 ml syringes. The 14 ml syringes arrive from the supplier with one mixer already fitted, and J-B Weld does not sell replacements for that size. If you want several repairs out of one package, choose a 25 ml syringe such as 50112 and buy extra mixers.

How do I use a Static Mixer?

Push the mixer onto the syringe tip and dispense; the 16 internal elements blend the resin and hardener as the material passes through. For thicker pastes such as KwikWeld, J-B Weld, MarineWeld, WoodWeld, and PlasticBonder, cut the tip back to widen the opening. Do not cut at or above the last tapered ridge, or the mixing elements can slide out.

Can I reuse a Static Mixer?

No. Epoxy left inside the mixer keeps curing, so each mixer must be used within the cure time of the product and then discarded. Fit a fresh mixer for the next repair. To save the rest of a syringe, pull the mixer off, cap the syringe, and hand-mix the following batch on a tray.

Do I have to use a Static Mixer, or can I mix the epoxy by hand?

You do not have to use one. Dispensing equal parts onto a tray and mixing them thoroughly with a stick gives the same result and lets you get several repairs out of one syringe. The mixer is for convenience and for precise, low-waste placement, which helps on small or hard to reach repairs.
