SUPERWELD LIGHT ACTIVATED INSTANT GLUE

The blue light is included and it is what makes this glue different: hold it on the joint and the adhesive cures in seconds. You do not strictly need it, because the glue will cure on its own within 24 hours. Use the light when you want to handle the part right away, and give the joint a few seconds of direct exposure from each accessible side.

You control when it cures. A standard cyanoacrylate begins setting the moment it touches the surface, so you get no time to position parts. With this one you can place the piece, adjust it until it lines up, then trigger the cure with the light. That helps on clear parts, on fiddly assemblies and on joints you need to align precisely.

200 degrees F, the same as our other SuperWeld cyanoacrylates. It is not recommended for anything you will smoke through, heat for food, or otherwise put in contact with something you consume, which rules out pipes and vape hardware. For a repair that runs hotter than 200 degrees F, use a high temperature RTV silicone or a J-B Weld epoxy.

Expect around a year of service in direct sun. UV light is what cures this adhesive, and continued exposure eventually degrades the cured bond, so an outdoor repair in full sun is not a permanent one. For an outdoor joint you want to last, use an epoxy such as Plastic Bonder, or move the repair somewhere shaded.

Keep it in the refrigerator, out of daylight, and cap it immediately after use. This glue reacts to light as well as to moisture, so a bottle left on a sunny bench hardens faster than a standard super glue does. Shelf life is about a year. Wipe the nozzle before capping so the cap does not seize, and let the bottle warm up before opening.

Test an offcut or a hidden spot first. This is a cyanoacrylate, and cyanoacrylates attack some foams. Polystyrene in particular dissolves rather than bonds. Denser closed cell foams often take it without damage, but the only way to know is a test spot. If the foam softens, shrinks or melts, switch to a foam safe contact cement instead.

For the longest shelf life, store SuperWeld nose-up in the refrigerator at 34–40°F. Keeping it upright helps keep the tip clear, and the cool temperature extends its usable life.
